Catskills: Don’t Cross the Airfield

The Catskills is a popular weekend getaway for residents of New York City. We visited a small town called Freehold for two days of relaxation and swimming in the summer of 2015.

There’s an Airbnb called the Copper Hill House that offers access to a creek, which requires a walk through the Freehold Airport. It’s a comfortable space that is good for groups. The property has some woodsy land to walk around and stretch out. There’s a great fire pit with a good amount of outdoor seating.

It’s an easy walk to the town center, which has a pub, ice cream shop and post office. We decided to pick up a ton of groceries and cooked all weekend.
